Varicose veins can cause significant stress and discomfort. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins. It can be done using local anaesthesia. You will be able to walk following the treatment and recovery is short. RFA closure is successful in 97% of patients. Pain after treatment is typically less compared with surgery. After 2 years or more, results from RFA are as good as open vein surgery.
