As many New Zealanders aspiring to a better lifestyle have discovered, Hawke's Bay is a great place to live. For health professionals and administrators living or relocating to the region, there would be few more satisfying places to work than Royston.

Set in a leafy pocket of residential Hastings, Royston offers a pleasant working environment within an attractively designed hospital and health centre complex.

Regular financial investment into facilities and equipment allows specialists and staff to practise their profession within a superior medical environment.

The Royston team

Royston Hospital employs more than 120 staff including over 70 qualified nurses. Royston's medical professionals are enthusiastically supported by the hospital administrators and management.

New nursing graduates are partnered with an experienced registered nurse until they become familiar with their role and environment. As Royston is a small hospital, nurses have the opportunity to practise at a more autonomous level, experience a wider range of professional challenges and have more opportunities to learn.

Royston has a commitment to provide ongoing training for its staff, both on and off site. Opportunities to attend clinical conferences and undertake relevant post graduate study are encouraged and where appropriate financially supported.

An opportunity to work with the best

Royston has attracted some of the finest surgeons in Hawke's Bay, including specialists in high technology, low invasive techniques. These specialists are the referral of choice by the region's General Practitioners.

Royston offers you an opportunity to work with these highly respected specialists, in partnership with a first rate nursing team. Royston has three of the most modern operating theatres in New Zealand, along with a 33 bed hospital, 8 recovery beds, x-ray and imaging services, a dedicated Endoscopy Suite, a modern High Dependency Unit and a dedicated Day Surgery Unit.
